WestProp unveils US$174 million for projects

WESTPROP Holdings Limited says it has US$174 million worth of projects in the pipeline as it continues with its quest to provide luxurious and decent housing within Zimbabwe’s built environment.

Already approved by the investments committee, the US$174 million will include the infrastructure constructions of nearly US$40 million to be spent at Hills Luxury Golf Estate.

Bounded by Sherwood and Harare Drive, the Hills Luxury Golf Estate, is set to be one of the best features in the City of Harare.

It will become the second golf estate in Harare after Brooke.

The US$174 million investment will also be directed at the construction of Millennium Heights block five, a project that will be announced sometime in 2024.

The US$174 million expenditure plan includes the construction of WestProp Holdings’ 5,500 square metre head office in Borrowdale and some flats in Pomona City.

Speaking in an interview on the sidelines of Millennium Heights gate house commissioning, WestProp Holdings Chief Executive Officer, Ken Sharpe, said his firm was currently involved in several projects in Harare and the aim was to bring out the city’s best and to ensure that quality is not compromised.

“We have set ourselves to build signature infrastructure in the quest for luxury and safety amongst our customers. We have a US$174 million worth of projects in the pipeline, these projects were approved by our investments committee last week,” said Sharpe.

He said WestProp Holdings was currently pursuing a number of projects outside the aforementioned projects and this include US$100 million for the Mall of Zimbabwe project whose groundbreaking was earmarked for sometime this year.

He said the developments would certainly change the infrastructure terrain in Harare.

WestProp Holdings Limited chairman, Michael Louis, said the firm was positive of Zimbabwe’s economic prospects, adding that it had set itself to build signature infrastructure that resonates with the mantra “Bringing Dubai to Zimbabwe”.

“Growth prospects for Zimbabwe are very positive and indications are that this economy will soon be the regional bedrock.

“We are elated about the project pipeline that we have got. I think today, it is more than just a development that we are doing. To me, it goes about what WestProp Holdings stands for, a people-centered community where people are safe and secure,” Louis.

The US$500 000 gate house commissioned at the Millennium Heights is WestProp’s third green energy powered gate following the Pomona and Pokugara constructions.

The Millennium Heights gate consists of the latest 24/7 surveillance and access control AI technology, alarm system, and home automation for each of the apartments.

WestProp Holdings last year introduced the penthouse concept at its Millennium Heights.

The existing stock of penthouses were normally found in the Tongogara avenues area but WestProp Holdings is spreading the properties at all its development sites giving customers a choice of location and an option to assist in the design – customer taste.

Located in the heart of Borrowdale, this apartment complex provides options from studio, one bed, two bed room apartments offered on sectional title deeds.

WestProp as a novel property developing company, is contributing massively to premium luxury housing locally.

The company’s commitment to the one billion bricks by 2050 strategy and its vision of creating smart cities, premium, luxury, affordable housing, green communities and lifestyle communities, will improve Zimbabwe’s property segment.

With projects such as Pokugara Residential Estate and Townhouses, Millennium Heights, Hills Golf Estate, Mall of Zimbabwe, and Pomona City, West Property, is determined to change the face of Zimbabwe’s real estate industry.-businessweekly
