SOUTH AFRICA-BASED conglomerate, CJ Global Express Group Unlimited, with interests in 56 countries, including Zimbabwe, has acquired a prime commercial property in London, marking its official entry into the European market.

The group’s founder and chairman, Zimbabwe-born entrepreneur Professor Clemence Jaricha, said the acquisition formed part of a wider strategic shift to diversify beyond logistics into hospitality and wellness.
“We are not just expanding geographically – we are expanding our vision,” Prof. Jaricha said. “London will soon host CJ Night Clubs and Restaurants, as well as CJ Global Beauty Spa. This is about building a global African brand.”
CJ Global’s entry into the London market puts it into the same space as a small group of African-owned multinationals establishing front-line operations in Europe’s hospitality and wellness sectors.
With construction and mining already active under the group, analysts believe that the London launch is expected to test the brand’s appeal in one of the world’s most competitive markets.
CJ Global’s operations span a number of sectors including Mines, construction, retail, and transport.
The holding company, CJ Global Express Group Unlimited, now oversees a portfolio that includes logistics/transport: CJ Global Express, construction/real estate: CJ Global Construction and Properties, hospitality/wellness: CJ Night Clubs/Restaurants and CJ Global Beauty Spa and retail: CJ Global Mall & CJ Vodka Premium Spirit
Apart from its commercial expansion, the group is actively engaging in community investment through the CJ Global Foundation, which focuses on philanthropy, humanitarian aid, and local development projects aimed at empowering communities across Zimbabwe.
“Growth means nothing if our people are left behind,” said Prof Jaricha, who was nominated for the 2025 Zimbabwe Men of the Year Awards.
“The foundation ensures our success translates into jobs, skills, and opportunity at home,” he said.
Prof. Jaricha, who is a passionate advocate for economic empowerment, has been on a drive to encourage young Zimbabwean entrepreneurs to prioritise job creation and value addition.
“We must build businesses that feed families, not just balance sheets,” he said during a recent address.
