Approximately 150 partners are expected to attend the annual Buy Zimbabwe local business conference, to be held in the capital on March 27 this year.
The conference will run under the theme, Lowering Zimbabwe’s Import Bill — Driving Local Industrial Growth, underscoring the importance of reducing the perennial trade deficit, supporting local industries, creating jobs and boosting economic growth.
Buy Zimbabwe general manager Alois Burutsa told NewsDay this week that the event will promote the ‘buy local’ push to enhance employment creation.
He said it would also seek to encourage consumers and organisations to prioritise local products and services.
“Preparations for the Buy Zimbabwe 2026 Buy Local Conference are now at an advanced stage with several partners coming on board,” he said, adding that the event would be held at Manna Resorts, Glen Lorne, Harare.
“The event aims to promote local brands, fostering a culture of buying Zimbabwe-made products and services from local companies to support job creation and the growth of local industry.”
The exhibition offers firms a platform to network, collaborate and expand into regional markets. Government officials confirmed attendance.
