ZSE close in positive territory
A positive sentiment prevailed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE) last week as equities closed in the positive in trades dominated by the market’s top cap counters.
The market’s biggest counter by capitalization – Delta was the biggest value driver accounting for $1 billion during the week to Friday 27 January, 2023.
Week on week, the beverages giant slid by a marginal 0,01 percent to settle at $402,97 after three million shares were exchanged.
Diversified industrial giant, Innscor accounted for $830 million during the week from 1 million shares as the counter pushes ahead with its plans to list on the VFEX. Its shares closed the week 5 percent above prior week to settle at $710,55.
After four million shares were exchanged, Econet contributed $509 million to weekly turnover as the telecoms giant went by a marginal 0,01 percent to $135,99.
Ok Zimbabwe followed with a $364 million contribution to market’s overall weekly turnover. The retail giant was the week’s biggest volume contributor after 10 million shares were exchanged during the week.
Specialty retail and distribution group, Axia wrapped the week’s top five value drivers at $202 million after two million shares were exchanged.
Figures from the exchange show that the primary indicator, the ZSE All Share rose 2 percent to close at 45 157 points.
The ZSE Top 10 rose by 0,87 to 13 612 points while the ZSE Top 15 added 0,89 percent to 15 166 points.
At 45 157 points, the Medium Cap Index was up 2,8 percent while the Small Cap Index recorded a 0,14 percent gain to close at 474 766 points.
Seed Co, Proplastics and Tanganda paced the fastest with gains of 37 percent, 27 percent and 19 percent respectively.
Cafca and FMP completed the top five risers with gains of 14 percent and 11 percent in that order.
On the downside, FML, Nampak and General Beltings were the biggest laggards falling by 14 percent, 9 percent and 8 percent respectively.
GetBucks and Turnall wrapped the top five laggards as they fell by 8 percent and 7 percent respectively.-nesday
