ZimTrade to host expanded annual exporters conference
Zimbabwe’s national trade development and promotion agency, ZimTrade plans to host an expanded annual exporters conference in Bulawayo in October this year, an official has said.
The event, previously a single-day conference, will now span an entire week under the theme “Qala/Tanga/Start” with its expansion aimed at providing local companies with greater opportunities to engage, collaborate and explore strategies to drive export growth.
ZimTrade’s main task is to develop new markets for products and promote export-related investments. It also advises the government on matters related to trade, exports, and investments..
“This year’s extension to a full week marks a significant milestone in our journey towards enhancing Zimbabwe’s export capabilities,” said ZimTrade chief executive officer Allan Majuru in a statement.
The week-long program will feature diverse exhibitions, side events and company visits, culminating in the Exporters Conference and Awards ceremony on October 17 at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF).
A key highlight will be the rebranded “Buyers Shop at Zim” seminar on October 16, which will connect local businesses with international buyers from markets like Zambia, Mozambique, South Africa and Europe.
“This extended period provides more time for meaningful discussions and also opens doors for exploring diverse strategies to drive our export growth,” Majuru said, adding that the expanded Zimbabwe Exporters Week seeks to foster dialogue and develop industry-driven solutions to improve the country’s trade balance.-ebsinessweekl
