Zimbabwe Capital Markets and Investment Promotion Forum takes roadshows to New York
The Ministry of Finance, Economic Development and Investment Promotion, in partnership with the Victoria Falls Stock Exchange (VFEX) and Financial Markets Indaba (FMI), have taken the pivotal investment roadshow aimed at positioning Zimbabwe as a premier investment destination to New York – America.
The Investment Forum in New York represents a significant milestone for Zimbabwe as it seeks to attract global investment and strengthen economic ties with the United States.
This strategic event is currently underway at the offices of Latham & Watkins LLP in New York.
As part of its mandate to promote investment, the ministry has actively engaged in various regional and international conferences, collaborating with key stakeholders to foster a business – friendly environment.
This comes as the treasury, in conjunction with VFEX and FMI, is committed to attracting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) across all industry sectors, including mining, agri-processing, tourism, energy, manufacturing and infrastructure.
The New York Investment Forum is expected to create a platform to showcase government – led projects and the vast investment opportunities available in Zimbabwe.
“Key Highlights of the investment roundtable will be to showcase investment opportunities highlighting Zimbabwe’s vibrant deal flow and robust economic potential, aiming to instill confidence among global investors,” said FMI executive director Patrick Muzondo.
A central theme of the event is on fostering collaboration between Zimbabwean businesses and the U.S. investment community with discussions to explore potential avenues for investment and highlight the benefits of integrating Zimbabwe’s economy with regional and global markets to boost FDI inflows.
Attendees will learn from successful case studies of existing partnerships between Zimbabwe and U.S. businesses, showcasing mutual benefits and growth achievements.
“These examples will illustrate the tangible outcomes of investing in Zimbabwe. Structured networking and matchmaking sessions will connect Zimbabwean entrepreneurs with potential U.S. investors,” said Muzondo.
This interactive format aims to create a dynamic environment for forging new partnerships and exploring investment opportunities, facilitating direct interactions that can lead to lasting business relationships.
