US$9,3m water equipment arrives

WATER purification equipment worth US$9,3 million purchased from Germany by the Government has started arriving in the country to address water challenges dogging Harare City Council.

This was revealed by Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister, Monica Mutsvangwa, yesterday during a post-Cabinet media briefing.

“Water purification equipment, valued at about US$9,3 million, purchased from Germany by the Government has started arriving in the country. It is expected to significantly boost the pumping capacity and water pressure at several Harare pump stations, including Alexandra Park, Letombo and Waterfalls,” said Minister Mutsvangwa.

Water production in Harare stands at 200 megalitres per day, resulting in shortages.-herald.cl.zw
