The new Zimbabwe National Industrial Development Policy (ZNIDP) (2024-30) aims to propel the economy forward while minimising environmental impacts. Zimbabwe’s commitment to international agreements like the Paris Agreement is highlighted, with various projects focused on environmental stewardship and climate resilience.

Efforts are underway to promote energy efficiency and renewable energy, with companies and regulatory bodies working together to adopt cleaner technologies. Climate-smart business growth, focusing on sectors like agriculture and tourism, is seen as crucial for reducing emissions and building resilience.

Challenges such as lack of access to finance and technical expertise remain, but Zimbabwe is poised for transformative change by leveraging its renewable energy resources and commitment to sustainability.

Official Opening: The congress will commence with opening remarks from various dignitaries, including representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Ministry of Provincial Affairs and Devolution and the Victoria Falls City Council.

It will examine inflation rates, exchange rates and overall economic performance, offering recommendations for further improving the framework.

New Perspectives on the Informal Sector: This panel discussion will highlight the significance of the informal sector in the Zimbabwean economy and explore strategies for integrating it into the formal economy. Experts will discuss policy implications, innovative strategies and best practices for supporting and empowering informal sector operators.
