Transform challenges into opportunities — VP Mohadi
THE business community must transform challenges into opportunities and build a legacy of success for future generations in Zimbabwe, Vice President Kembo Mohadi said yesterday.
In a speech read on his behalf by Permanent Secretary in his office, Dr Benson Martins Dube, at the third Zimbabwe Business Expo in Harare yesterday, Vice President Kembo Mohadi highlighted that the annual event served as a testament to the nation’s unwavering commitment to fostering economic growth and innovation across all sectors.
“Zimbabwe is too rich, in terms of both natural and human capital resources, to be poor. We have everything it takes to be a prosperous and empowered upper-middle-income society. I want to challenge all of us here, that we should not fail our national leader, President Mnangagwa, who has been such a great visionary,” said VP Mohadi. He challenged the business community to embrace the opportunities that lie ahead, saying the expo should be a catalyst for new partnerships and innovative ventures that will drive the continued growth and prosperity of Zimbabwe.
“Reflecting on the remarkable journey of the Zimbabwe Business Expo, we recall the vision ignited by President Mnangagwa. It is his unwavering belief in our potential that has brought us here today,” said VP Mohadi.
He said the inaugural expo was a bold step forward, and the second expo, held in Bulawayo in March 2024, was a resounding success.
VP Mohadi commended the organisers for their resolute commitment on this trajectory that can only augur well for the country’s economic development. The Zimbabwe Business Expo, VP Mohadi said, is not merely an exhibition; it is a celebration of collective achievements and a reflection of the resilience of the entrepreneurial spirit.

The expo brings together businesses from various sectors, including agriculture, manufacturing, technology, tourism, or any other field to forge partnerships, share ideas, and explore new opportunities for collaboration,
“It is therefore pleasing to note the level of participation, which demonstrates our collective aspirations to grow our economy, through learning from and inspiring one another at both the sectoral and micro-levels.
“As we navigate the complexities of today’s global economy, it is essential that we harness the strength of our diverse business community,” he said.
The expo provides a unique opportunity for entrepreneurs, investors, and stakeholders to connect, share best practices, and showcase the ingenuity that characterises the nation.
