Priscilla Mutembwa takes helm as CEO of Cottco
Cottco Holdings Limited (Cottco) has announced the appointment of Priscilla Mutembwa as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the group, effective October 1, 2023.
Mutembwa, an illustrious leader with a rich professional history, began her career journey in the realm of information systems development and implementation, armed with a degree in Computer Systems Engineering.
She initially provided her expertise as a management consultant, subsequently shifting her career focus towards the finance sector.
Over the years, Mutembwa has not only succeeded in becoming a Chartered Management Accountant, but also earned an MBA, marking her transition into the sphere of general management.
Her significant contribution to the corporate landscape in Zimbabwe is evidenced by her tenure at reputable firms including BOC Gases Zimbabwe, BAT Zimbabwe Holdings Limited, ZABG, and Cargill Zimbabwe (Private) Limited.
Beyond the borders of Zimbabwe, Mutembwa has garnered international experience through her roles at British Rail and UNICEF while residing in Europe. Her leadership has been recognised at various levels, as reflected in her six-year service as a Commissioner for the Judicial Services Commission of Zimbabwe.
After dedicating six years as the CEO of Cargill Zimbabwe (Private) Limited, Mutembwa relocated to the United States. Here, she furthered her education by obtaining a Master’s degree in Cybersecurity.
Following this, she played a pivotal role at the US Africa Cybersecurity Group, focusing on the development and implementation of crucial cybersecurity policies.
Moreover, she is the founder of DAMIPA Consulting, a consulting firm specialising in risk management with a concentration in cybersecurity.
Mutembwa is renowned for her commitment to fostering growth and sharing of experiences among smallholder women farmers.
She is an advocate for the acquisition of technical skills by women, empowering them to secure positions and actively participate in both industry and national policy development and implementation processes.
With her at the helm, the company anticipates ushering in an era of new and exciting opportunities, aiming to not only transform Cottco, but also make a positive impact on communities.
