NEDBANK to sponsor Quoted Companies Survey again
ALPHA Media Holdings (AMH) has announced that NEDBANK Zimbabwe will this year sponsor the Quoted Companies Survey for the fifth year running.
The survey, which is keenly followed by business, government, the academia and key stakeholders, is published annually by AMH’s business weekly, Zimbabwe Independent.
This year’s event takes place virtually on June 3, running under the theme: Business Innovation and Enterprise in a Disrupted Environment.
AMH, which publishes the Zimbabwe Independent, The Standard, NewsDay, Southern Eye and Weekly Digest, said it was grateful that NEDBANK had agreed to carry on with the important partnership.
“AMH is again hosting this year’s Quoted Companies Survey,” said group chief executive officer Kenias Mafukidze.
“The event will be sponsored for the fifth year running by NEDBANK. The event is now clearly a landmark event on the Zimbabwe business calendar.
“It will be attended by business professionals in public and private sectors, key decision-makers, business executives, ambassadors, academia and economists. Investors in the diaspora will be following our live presentation. We once again thank NEDBANK for its commitment and leadership. Innovation and staying relevant in an ever-changing environment is becoming a key business quality,” Mafukidze said.
The Quoted Companies Survey measures the performance of firms listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE).
This year, the awards will recognise ZSE-listed companies that have excelled in the following categories: Best Company, Sectoral, Best Fund Managers and Legendary in Business Leadership.
Mafukidze said as Zimbabwe rebounded from the debris of the COVID-19 pandemic, it was time the country took an in-depth look into the companies that have led in innovation to stay relevant to the changing landscape, in line with this year’s theme.
Last year, seed breeder SEED CO International was adjudged the overall winner of the Zimbabwe Independent Quoted Companies Survey award while construction giant Masimba Holdings Limited and agro-industrial outfit Zimplow Limited were the first and second runners-up, respectively.
The Rainbow Tourism Group won the Best Innovation and Technology award for its Gateway Stream mobile application, TSL Limited was the first runner-up in that category.
