National Foods supports Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals with mealie meal donation

National Foods, a leading food manufacturing company in Zimbabwe, has demonstrated its commitment to corporate social responsibility by donating two tonnes of mealie meal to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals.

According to the Hospitals’ officials, this donation will significantly bolster the Group’s efforts to provide quality healthcare services to its patients.

In a letter of acknowledgment seen by this publication, Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals expressed sincere gratitude to National Foods for their support.

The hospital highlighted the importance of this donation in enhancing their operations and reiterated their commitment to delivering quality healthcare.

“Mealie meal, a staple food in Zimbabwe, is a crucial component of the hospital’s nutritional programme, and this donation will help ensure that patients receive adequate nourishment.”

National Foods has a long-standing tradition of giving back to the community.

The company supports over 50 charitable organisations across Zimbabwe, providing monthly grocery donations worth over US$500 to each organisation.

The donation comes after Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals, issued a heartfelt appeal to Grain Millers Association of Zimbabwe Chairman, Tafadzwa Musarara, for a much-needed maize meal donation.

The hospital, which serves a large number of patients daily, has been facing shortages of essential commodities, including maize meal, according to Mautsi.

Mautsi said maize meal is a vital food staple crucial for maintaining the nutritional balance of patients, especially those recovering from illnesses or undergoing treatment.

In a letter addressed to Musarara seen by this publication, Mautsi, highlighted the critical role that maize meal plays in their operations.

The donation, they believe, will significantly alleviate the pressure on their resources and ensure that patients receive adequate nutrition.

As the country faced an El Nino induced drought in the last farming season, the support of businesses and individuals is crucial in ensuring that healthcare institutions like Parirenyatwa Hospital can continue to provide quality care to their patients.

The hospital’s appeal serves as a reminder of the collective responsibility to support those in need, especially during these difficult times.-ebnessweekl
