Mutasa RDC scoops top gong
MUTASA Rural District Council (RDC) is on a roll after being crowned the gold winner for outstanding service excellence at the Zimbabwe CEO’s Network Awards in Harare, last Friday.
The ceremony brought together the country’s top business minds, public administrators, and private sector leaders to celebrate exceptional leadership and performance across various sectors.
Mutasa RDC stood out among the best, scooping one of the night’s most coveted awards – bearing testament to the council’s commitment to efficient service delivery and inclusive development.
The Zimbabwe CEO’s Network is an exclusive platform promoting leadership growth and excellence among executives through peer networking, targeted mentoring, and recognition of notable achievements.
Each year, the Network evaluates local authorities, companies, and CEOs nationwide, selecting those whose contributions have significantly impacted Zimbabwe’s developmental agenda.
This year, Mutasa RDC emerged as the top performer in its category, earning the gold award for outstanding service excellence.
The award recognised the council’s instrumental role in driving development within its jurisdiction, its innovative leadership, and consistent commitment to improving the quality of life for residents under its watch.
“This is a special recognition for being a disruptive player at the market place, you continue to break records,” reads the certificate of recognition presented to the council by the Zimbabwe CEO’s Network.
In an interview, Mutasa RDC council chairperson, Councillor Paddington Nemaunga welcomed the award with humility and pride, describing it as a victory for the entire council and the communities they serve.
“As a council, we welcome the award with heartfelt gratitude to Zimbabwe CEO’s Network for recognising our outstanding work at Mutasa RDC. This award motivates us to continue delivering exceptional services to our community. Thank you for acknowledging our efforts and contribution,” he said.
Councillor Nemaunga attributed the win to the spirit of teamwork that has been fostered within the local authority, saying that collaboration and unity of purpose among councillors and management had allowed them to implement projects efficiently and transparently.
“This recognition did not come by accident. It is the result of a dedicated team working with one vision, to improve our communities. Our people come first, and we are committed to continuing with programmes that uplift livelihoods, provide better infrastructure, and empower our wards,” he said.
Mutasa RDC has over the years been lauded for its strides in community-driven development, road maintenance, health service support, and improving access to education infrastructure in rural areas.
Its strong performance management systems and participatory approach to governance have seen the district becoming a model of excellence among rural local authorities.
“This latest recognition from a respected business leadership organisation is, not only a feather in the council’s cap, but also a morale booster for the district as it continues to strive for excellence in local governance and service delivery,” said Councillor Nemaunga.-herald
