Hamara empowers Esteemed Business Women
HAMARA and Bulawayo Ward 20 Councillor Sandra Ndebele have come together to support women’s empowerment by donating 500 day-old chicks to Esteemed Business Women.
The goal is to provide women with sustainable projects for improving their livelihoods.
Esteemed Business Women is a local entrepreneurship group that offers a valuable platform for networking and discussing challenges in the business world.
Recently, the organisation hosted its first business conference, attended by high-profile figures such as the Minister of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development, Monica Mutsvangwa and popular South African actress Sophie Ndaba.
The chick handover ceremony at Hamara’s offices is aimed at empowering women to achieve sustainable business growth.
Hamara’s marketing manager, Ms Bridget Rungu, explained the donation’s aim, saying “It’s to empower women so that they go further”.
“This is the donation which has been made by Hamara in conjunction with Councillor Sandra Ndebele to empower women so that they go further,” she said.
Esteemed Business Women founder Sipho Mazubiko outlined distribution plans, taking some chicks to women in Bulawayo Ward 20 and allocating the remaining to Esteemed Business Women members in Matabeleland South.
“I was very happy when we met with Hamara at Sandra Ndebele’s event. This is why we are sharing this donation with some ladies from Ward 20. Hamara offered me 500 chicks, so some of these chicks are going to Filabusi, Insiza District,” said Mazibuko.
Generated project funds will be used to pay school fees for orphans in Ward 20 and Insiza District.
Esteemed Business Women member Ms Sibusisiwe Langa commended Mazibuko’s dedication to empowering women through various projects and encouraged members to pursue their initiatives for self-sufficiency.
“We appreciate the love you have for us. You have uplifted us as women, lets support the girl child,” said Mrs Langa. —-choncile
