Fastjet Zimbabwe reduces airfares to promote local tourism

Low-cost airline, Fastjet Zimbabwe, has announced discounts on return fares on selected flights in Zimbabwe in a move that will boost domestic travel and tourism.

The discounts apply for the Harare to Kariba, Hwange and Victoria Falls, Kariba to Harare and Victoria Falls, Hwange to Harare and Victoria Falls and the Victoria Falls to Harare, Hwange and Kariba routes.

Travel dates should be from September the 13th to the 28th October.

This comes at a time the country is also looking at the domestic market for growth of the sector, which is still recovering from the adverse impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The pandemic resulted in travel restrictions as economies implemented lockdowns to limit the spread of the pandemic.

Now, the country is upbeat of a positive out-turn in the sector that has also been identified as a key enabler to economic growth. And a reliable transport system is also essential in facilitating domestic travel and the move by Fastjet jells well with this plan.

According to the airline, baggage allowances are included with all fares.

Recently, the airline announced additional flight frequencies from Bulawayo’s Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo International Airport to Johannesburg’s Oliver Tambo International Airport in support of business and leisure travel.-ebusinessweekly
