Cimas launches mobile clinic

CIMAS Health Group, the largest private medical aid society in the country, has launched a mobile clinic model as it embraces innovative approaches to improve healthcare service delivery.

In a significant move, the organisation recently acquired a mobile clinic, a customised vehicle staffed with health experts, designed to bring essential healthcare services directly to communities in need.

The mobile clinic was showcased during the recent Zimbabwe Agricultural Society (ZAS) exhibition in Harare, which attracted local and foreign exhibitors and ran under the theme: “Cultivating Prosperity: Growing Business. Innovating for Change. Nurturing our Future.”

Cimas Health Group chief executive officer, Mr Vulindlela Ndlovu, said the mobile clinic initiative underscores the group’s commitment to delivering global-standard health and wellness solutions irrespective of location or circumstances.

“In today’s fast-paced world, access to quality healthcare is of utmost importance. As Cimas continues to be innovative in the health sector, we purchased a mobile clinic in our efforts to improve the accessibility of health services,” he said.

Mr Ndlovu described the mobile clinic as a transformative tool that will revolutionise medical service delivery buy-in. Through this initiative, he said Cimas aims to serve underserved populations and areas with limited healthcare facilities.

“Our mobile clinic will be used to provide a wide range of services that can be tailored to the specific needs of the populations, thereby bringing healthcare directly to communities in need,” said Mr Ndlovu.

He said the mobile clinic is designed to address various healthcare needs, including preventive care, vaccinations, health education, and primary healthcare services.

Mr Ndlovu further highlighted that operating the mobile clinic allows Cimas to bridge the healthcare gap, ensuring that even the most vulnerable populations receive the medical attention they deserve.

“Strengthening health service delivery is crucial for Cimas and to the achievement of the health-related Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which include the delivery of interventions to reduce child mortality and maternal mortality,” he said. – chronciel
