Bulawayo hosts second edition of Zimbabwe Business Expo
ALL is set for the second edition of the Zimbabwe Business Expo in Bulawayo on Friday, which is scheduled to be officially opened by Vice President Kembo Mohadi.
The inaugural expo was launched in Harare in 2016 by President Mnangagwa, who was Vice President at the time and the platform promises to be one of the country’s premier business platforms seeking to showcase the achievements of players in implementing the policies and encourage excellence, in practice and ethics, in the industry.

This year’s expo, which will be held at a local hotel, seeks to provide a platform for players in various sectors to meet and create networks beneficial for the development of the nation through its policies, organisers have said.
In a statement, Zimbabwe Business Expo chairperson, Mr Gilbert Sawana, said the Second Republic has inculcated a culture of hard work and productivity hence they expect an even bigger expo this year.
“We would like to acknowledge the efforts of individuals and organisations who have excelled, been innovative and have contributed meaningfully to the development of our nation through our countries policy, creating a middle-income economy by 2030,” he said.
Mr Sawana said Vision 2030 is a powerful force of socio-economic change for Zimbabwe and as a result, efforts of individuals and organisations who have excelled and have contributed and are still contributing to the development of the country through this policy, need to be acknowledged.
He said part of the objectives of the expo include celebrating the achievements of players in implementing the policies, to reward and encourage excellence, in practice and ethics, in the industry and promoting international and localisation in Zimbabwe, among others.
He urged local businesses to take advantage of the expo to market their products and services and grow their business footprint while assisting the country to grow its economy in line with Vision 2030.
Mr Sawana said the exhibition will also promote face to face marketing, create direct sale opportunities, as well as improving brand visibility.
“Not only will you learn from the people visiting your stand, but you will also use the event to get to know your competitors.
“In today’s competitive marketing world, it is essential to have knowledge of your competitors,” he said.
By hosting the event in Bulawayo, Mr Sawana said they hoped to hype investor interest in the city as a business destination and help amplify its true potential.
He said Bulawayo businesses should use the platform to forge synergies that are beneficial in the long run. -chroniclec.zw
