Agilitee launches electric bikes
REGIONAL electric vehicle manufacturer and green energy solution firm Agilitee Africa (Agilitee) has unveiled its electric scooter, the Agilitee LoadEx.
A sample is available at the company’s Joina City offices in Harare for viewing and test rides.
The company has a number of pre-orders already made as it moves to expand its footprint in the region.
“It will be assembled in Zimbabwe, creating jobs for bike technicians and assembling personnel in a location to be disclosed and we will be exporting to neighbouring countries,” Agilitee director Tanaka Kutama told NewsDay Business.
The Agilitee LoadEX electric scooter has a 600W electric motor that is capable of propelling the electric scooter to a speed of 45 km/h and consumes less than 1,6 kWh per hundred kilometres. The e-scooter houses a 48V 20 Ah battery pack that is capable of delivering 70 to 80km on a single charge.
The user-removable and portable battery pack weighs only 7,2kg and can be charged at home or office improving the user-convenience.
The LoadEX comes with a “Swift Delivery” slogan and with a contemporary minimalist design approach that appeals to young urban commuters.
The front apron is quite flat and integrates a full LED headlamp that warps the front end and ensures great night time.
Kutama said additionally, the company had also brought to the local market products that will offer nearly 90% energy-saving from the intelligent kettle, intelligent lunch box and intelligent Smart TV.
Human care products like the face mask massager and knee massager will also be available to Zimbabwe.
The long-term plan for Agilitee is to establish one of the biggest assembly plants in Zimbabwe for buses and a green technology school.
Agilitee in May 2021 acquired a 90% stake in Zimbabwean electric vehicle car dealership Zimtorque in a cash-and-share swap deal. The transaction resulted in a name change with Zimtorque being renamed Agilitee Zimbabwe (Private) Ltd.
The company plans to officially unveil mobility dealerships in Harare and Bulawayo followed by a manufacturing plant creating 700 jobs in Zimbabwe.
The company later plans to expand its wings to the west African nation of Nigeria.
The Nigerian operation will serve as the headquarters for the region.-nesday
