AAG targets Asian markets

The Affirmative Action Group China/Asia chapter is working towards opening space for local produce and brands in Asian markets.


AAG China/Asia president Mr Tawanda Dozva said the empowerment lobby group was seeking to create business opportunities in Asia for locals.


This came in the wake of China becoming the most powerful economy in the World.


“We need to earn the country the much needed foreign currency through marketing our products to lucrative market in Asia.

“As AAG China/Asia, we intend to increase the importation and exportation of goods between Asia and Zimbabwe.
“China has a huge production industry, almost everything you need is manufactured here. China also has a large market and we intend to find space for Zimbabwean produce and brands in the Asian market. The opportunities will be limitless with the involvement of AAG,” said Mr Dozva, who is based in Beijing.


Mr Dozva and his executive recently met with the Zimbabwean Ambassador to China Brigadier General (Retired) Martin Chedondo who implored them to help achieve the objectives of the National Development Strategy 1 and Vision 2030, both enunciated by President Mnangagwa.


Zimbabweans in the Diaspora were supposed to invest back home and work to increase the presence of local products on foreign markets.


President Mnangagwa has been emphasising the need to re-engage and engage with the rest of the world.
Mr Dozva said AAG had strategically positioned itself globally to seek investment opportunities as well as act as the vanguard of the country’s economy.
   
Secretary General for AAG China/Asia Mr Kudzai Dzumbira said that they were working tirelessly to bring in board members from Japan, India, Thailand and other Asian countries and to establish a working relationship with these countries in terms of business and bilateral relations with Zimbabwe.-The Herald
