Radar Properties issues first batch of title deeds

PROPERTY development and management firm, Radar Properties Holdings Limited yesterday issued the first batch of 25 title deeds to clients who bought stands at the King City project, a development that has installed confidence in the project.

Radar Holdings Limited, is developing a self-contained residential area known as the “King City” housing project, along Gwanda Road.

The project is set to deliver 10 000 residential stands. Some of the beneficiaries have begun construction.

In his presentation, Radar Properties executive director, Mr Walter Zimunya said the issuance of title deeds is more than just a legal procedure but a symbol of trust, security and fulfilment of promise.

He said since the inception of the project, they have been dedicated to creating a vibrant and sustainable community, where people can invest in their future with confidence.

“I am proud to announce the first title deeds to our residence. Today, you have received your title deeds. It signifies not only your legal ownership of your stands but also your stack in the future of the King City development,” he said.

Mr Zimunya said the issuance of the first batch of title deeds aligns well with President Mnangagwa’s vision to distribute over a million title deeds this year.

He added that Radar Properties hopes to inspire other developers and contribute to the national goal of empowering citizens through property ownership.

“While these may be the first title deeds from King City, all the 10 000 stands that we are developing will certainly be titled.

“We implore the Government to continue assisting land developers like us, especially with issues of offsite infrastructure as we work to achieve the national housing target,” he said.

Zimbabwe targets to deliver 1,2 million units by 2030 and part of the vision is to change the face of Zimbabwe by building modern houses that are sustainable and environment friendly.

The Government has set a target to deliver 220 000 housing units by 2025 ,leveraging on partnerships with the private sector and new technologies in the human settlement sector.

Access to affordable and decent accommodation is a critical component of the Government’s vision to create an upper middle-income economy by 2030.

The launch of the Zimbabwe National Human Settlement Policy by President Mnangagwa in 2021 has set the tone for the Ministry of National Housing and Social Amenities, to operationalise the policy in partnership with the private sector.

Mr Zimunya said the broader scope of the project will accommodate schools, churches and industrial zones ,to create a holistic and self-sustaining smart city.

Radar Properties also has 430 hectares of industrial stands that will deliver about 450 stands.

Under the National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1), which spans 2021-2025, the housing delivery pillar is expected to deliver 220 000 housing units by 2025 through collective efforts from stakeholders, and all parties involved in human settlements.

Demand for housing has risen over the years in tandem with population growth, and in a bid to accelerate the provision of housing, the Government has adopted several strategies to ensure access to housing by the majority of citizens.

The project has attracted interest from far and wide. For instance, the firm held a trade mission to the United Kingdom to explore investment opportunities for the diaspora community.

“In terms of market, we are selling our stands to everyone, we have sold quite a lot to locals. We have people from Bulawayo, we also have people from Harare and about 40 percent of our sales are to the diaspora,” he said.

“Last year, we had a trade mission to the United Kingdom, to pitch our product there.

“We are also providing a solution to Zimbabweans who are based in the UK or elsewhere, as we have a secure payment platform where they can pay from wherever they are,”

“We are developing a medium and a low-density suburb, and the stands range from 600 square metres, going for US$21 000 to 4 000 square metres, with low-density prices starting from US$18 per square metre.”

So far, the company has sold about 600 stands.

One of the title deed beneficiaries applauded the development.

“I feel happy to receive the title deeds. We once bought land somewhere but the project failed but today I’m happy about what Radar Properties did as this gives us peace to say this is real,” he said.

“I am very satisfied and I’m now continuing to build my house and I urge all land developers to imitate what King City has done as this gives us assurance.” — chronicle.co.zw
