Fastjet launches “Amazing Zim” campaign

Regional airline, Fastjet Zimbabwe, launched its “Amazing Zimbabwe” campaign that promotes the country’s tourism sector as it focuses on promoting the hidden gems of Zimbabwe.

This comes as the country’s tourism industry that is seen as a low hanging fruit and also touted a key enabler for economic growth, is recovering from the adverse impacts of the Covid -19 pandemic.

The sector is still recovering from the pandemic, which saw some operators in the travel and hospitality industry temporarily closing some of their operations in line with travel restrictions that were imposed globally to limit the spread of the pandemic.

Now, the “Amazing Zimbabwe” campaign is a celebration and promotion of all things Zimbabwean, encompassing the country’s beauty, vibrant culture and rich heritage. The campaign is centred on four unique pillars synonymous with Zimbabwe; Rich Traditions, Splendid Heritage, Iconic Sites and Great People.

“The Amazing Zimbabwe campaign embodies the essence of Zimbabwe and our commitment to the continuous promotion of air connectivity in our beloved country. This campaign is tailored to showcase Zimbabwe’s great assets including some of those that often may not get the attention they deserve. It will be a wide-reaching showcase of many a splendour” said Nunurai Ndawana, the spokesman of Fastjet Zimbabwe.

By leveraging their regional footprint, Fastjet will continue to deliver a compelling message of an Amazing Zimbabwe throughout their flight network.

“The award-winning airline’s commitment to travellers is an assurance of a memorable experience in Zimbabwe, uncovering hidden gems and great discoveries,” said the airline.

This is not the first time Fastjet has shown cause towards enhancing the travel and tourism industry in Zimbabwe. Already, its increased routes on the domestic market and packages have significantly contributed to the country’s tourism industry growth.

Last year, Fastjet launched a morning flight between Bulawayo and Johannesburg, in addition to the Harare-Kariba-Hwange routes also introduced last year.

The airline has, therefore, helped link major tourism and business destinations locally and in the region, introducing a rate one-day trip that allows people to travel and return on the same day after doing business.-ebusinessweekly
