Mine Entra expo postponed indefinitely?
THE 25th edition of the Mining, Engineering and Transport (Mine Entra) exhibition that was scheduled to be held physically in Bulawayo from tomorrow up to Friday has been postponed indefinitely.
Last year, the specialised exhibition, which is organised by the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) Company was held virtually on account of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Efforts to get a comment from ZITF Company chief executive officer, Dr Nicholas Ndebele and his deputy Ms Stella Nkomo, were unsuccessful as they did not respond to written questions from Business Chronicle yesterday.
However, in an internal correspondence dated November 2, 2021, the Zimbabwe Miners Federation (ZMF), which represents the interest of small-scale miners in the country, advised its members of the postponement of Mine Entra.
“Please be advised that the Mine Entra initially scheduled for the 3rd to 5th of this month, has been postponed to a later date to be announced,” said ZMF chief executive officer Mr Wellington Takavarasha in an internal correspondence.
Mine Entra provides a platform for players in the mining, engineering and transport sectors to engage in productive discussions for the creation of an enabling environment for the growth and development of the mining industry. – The Chronicle
