PSMAS scoops two ZITF awards
PREMIER Service Medical Aid Society (PSMAS) once again won the gold medal in the medical aid and health-related sector category at the just-ended 2021 Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF).
The largest health care funder in Zimbabwe on Thursday won the gold medal for the sixth time in a row for being the Best Zimbabwean Exhibitor under the medical aid and health related sector as well as a third place for being the overall best Zimbabwean exhibitor.
The gold medal recognises an innovative approach of doing business in the new normal.
The 2021 ZITF, which took place against the backdrop of Covid-19, running under the theme “Showcasing The New Normal for Business and Industry: Realities and opportunities”, commenced on September 21 and saw a number of both local and regional organisations showcasing their products and services.
PSMAS leveraged on the theme by showcasing their new look and new innovations, which include the PSMAS 24/7 mobile application, new payment gateway platforms, a new contact centre, biometric member registration platform and an electronic claims submitting platform for their service providers.
These new platforms have enhanced the way the society is now doing business in the new normal.
Premier Service Medical Investments (PSMI), which is the society’s largest healthcare service provider, was also exhibiting new innovations together with PSMAS.
Some of the innovations showcased by PSMI included the dial-a-doc, telemedicine and the Diaspora healthcare facility among other innovations.
During the presentation of the gold medal, PSMAS managing director Dr Nixjoen Mapesa expressed his excitement and thanked all members and stakeholders for supporting the society over the years.
“As PSMAS, we believe we are the best in the industry and to have won the award six times in a row speaks volumes not just in terms of exhibitions but also in terms of service offering.
“We have grown over the years, not just in the past six years. We have been evolving, innovative, bringing new things and new stability.
“For the past six years we have won the award, each year has been different. When we found ourselves also winning the third best overall exhibitor award, we became convinced that now we have really grown as a society.
“Our rebranding exercise has transformed us into a better organisation. Our promise for he future is that as a society, we will keep on innovating.
“We have embarked on a massive image rebuilding exercise which is meant to bring new service offerings to our members and transform the health care sector in Zimbabwe,” says DrMapesa
This is by no means a small feat considering that this is the sixth time in the past six years that PSMAS has walked away with this prestigious title. PSMAS as a long history of success and professional service to its members dating back to
over nine decades. Its branch network now stretches across the country covering 17 cities and towns.
The society is rich with expertise and has stood the test of time and still continues to go further in bringing value to its members. For the past nine decades, PSMAS has built a rich heritage and solid foundation in the healthcare sector in Zimbabwe as well as having a deeper understanding of its various stakeholders.-The Herald
