BAT named among global top employers
LEADING cigarette manufacturing concern, British American Tobacco (BAT Zimbabwe), has earned recognition among employers of choice after it was named in the top 10 of the latest nominations announced by global certification firm — Top Employers Institute.
The Top Employers Institute is a global entity which recognises excellence in the conditions employers create for their workers and had been in the business for the past 30 years, which has seen them certify organisations from 120 countries.
BAT which, among other brands, manufactures Madison, Everest and Dunhill, has been nominated at a time when Government has been calling on the private sector to join the State in creating a rewarding and gainful working environment for workers in line with Vision 2030.
Top Employers Institute chief executive officer David Plink said BAT has continued to prioritise the welfare of its employees.
“Despite the challenging year we have experienced (which has certainly made an impact on organisations around the globe), BAT South Africa and Southern African Markets has continued to demonstrate the power of putting their people first in the workplace,” said Mr Plink.
“We are proud to share this year’s announcement and congratulate the organisations who have been certified in their respective countries through the Top Employers Institute programme,” he said.
BAT Zimbabwe General Manager, Kimesh Naidoo, said the recognition is a proud moment to be, for the cigarette manufacturer.
“This certification demonstrates that BAT Zimbabwe continues to deliver workplace conditions of the highest standard,” said Mr Naidoo.
“We continue to provide our diverse workforce with an inclusive environment where they can thrive and be the best version of themselves,” he said.–herald.cl.zw
